Privacy Policy
SaidInk is built as a local-first transcript studio for recordings, interviews, lectures, podcasts, and audio/video files. This policy explains what data stays on your device, when network access may be used, and how you can delete your local data.
Who operates SaidInk
SaidInk is operated under the SaidInk product name.

Audio, transcripts, and local files
SaidInk stores your recordings, imported files, extracted audio, transcripts, transcript edits, bookmarks, recording metadata, local model files, and local settings on your device.
SaidInk does not upload your audio files or transcripts to a SaidInk server for transcription.
SaidInk does not require a SaidInk account.
SaidInk does not include third-party analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or tracking SDKs in the MVP build.
Recording and speech permissions
SaidInk asks for microphone permission only when you choose to record audio.
SaidInk may ask for Apple Speech Recognition permission only if you explicitly choose the Apple on-device speech fallback for a supported language. SaidInk does not silently switch to remote Apple speech recognition.
You are responsible for getting any consent required by law before recording other people.
Transcription
The primary transcription path uses installed local models. After a model is downloaded, transcription can run on device without uploading your audio or transcript to SaidInk.
Optional Apple speech recognition is offered only as a separate fallback when the selected language is supported on the device and only after Apple's Speech Recognition permission flow.
Network use
SaidInk may use the internet for:
- downloading local transcription model files after you request a model download;
- validating model manifests and checksums before marking a model installed;
- Apple in-app purchases, restore purchases, and subscription management through StoreKit;
- system-managed Apple services required by iOS permission, purchase, or speech-recognition flows.
The current model download source is the Hugging Face argmaxinc/whisperkit-coreml repository. The model host or CDN may receive standard request information, such as IP address, request time, and user agent, as part of serving the download. SaidInk does not send your audio or transcripts to the model host.
SaidInk does not use tracking query parameters for model downloads.
Website and support email
The public SaidInk website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It is a static site with no JavaScript analytics, tracking pixels, account form, or support form. Cloudflare may process standard web request metadata, such as IP address, request URL, user agent, and request time, as part of serving the site.
If you email support, your email address, headers, and message content are handled by your mail provider, Cloudflare Email Routing, and the destination SaidInk support mailbox so the support request can be received and answered.
Purchases
SaidInk uses Apple StoreKit for purchases and restores. Apple processes App Store purchases and subscriptions under Apple's terms and privacy policies. SaidInk stores a local entitlement state on your device so the app can unlock Pro features.
SaidInk does not operate an account system for purchases in the MVP build.
Exports and sharing
When you export or share transcripts, audio, or metadata, you choose the destination through iOS sharing controls. Files you export may be handled by the apps or services you select.
SaidInk's local metadata/transcript export does not include audio file bytes.
Delete local data
You can delete local SaidInk data from Settings. This removes local recordings, transcripts, model downloads, temporary exports, pending imports, and local quota state from the device. Purchases remain tied to your Apple ID and can be restored through Apple.
Deleting the app may also remove local app data from the device according to iOS behavior.
iCloud and backups
SaidInk does not sync recordings or transcripts through iCloud Drive and does not operate a cloud account for them.
Recordings, extracted audio, transcript metadata, transcript edits, and bookmarks are local app data. If iCloud Backup or a computer device backup includes SaidInk, iOS may include that local app data in the device backup according to your device settings. SaidInk does not have access to your iCloud backups.
Model downloads and temporary generated files, such as model download staging, transcript export files, and transcription chunks, are excluded from iCloud Backup where SaidInk creates those files.
Children
SaidInk is not designed for children and is not marked as a Kids category app in the current launch plan.
Changes
This policy may be updated when SaidInk changes its data practices. The effective date will be updated when the policy changes.
